Frequently Asked Questions

Is RoadTrip a navigation app?

No. RoadTrip does not calculate routes or provide turn-by-turn directions. Continue using your preferred navigation service for directions.

Do I have to plan a destination?

No. Wander lets you start a drive without specifying a destination or route.

Is GPS required?

No. Location tracking is optional. You can use trip information and optional odometer readings without recording a GPS track.

Does RoadTrip track me in the background?

RoadTrip is designed to sample location only while the app is active when tracking is enabled. Verify your device permissions and the app's current behavior.

Can I record stops and side trips?

Yes. RoadTrip supports stops, Side Trips, and Wander journeys, with summaries of completed travel.

Can I track expenses?

Yes. You can record expenses such as fuel and food, and review recorded totals in trip summaries.

Does it show weather along a trip?

RoadTrip supports weather checkpoints and trip weather planning. Forecasts are estimates; consult official alerts and current road conditions.

Can I compare past trips?

Yes. Trip Analysis summarizes recorded mileage, timing, expenses, and vehicle usage. Results depend on the trips and information recorded.

Will it work without internet access?

Previously saved trip information can be useful without connectivity, but new weather forecasts and map content may require an internet connection. Do not rely on offline maps or forecasts unless you have verified they are available.

Where is RoadTrip available?

The initial product is focused on travel in the United States. App Store availability will be announced here.
